D.L.Rees Contracting was started in 1990, with a focus on restoring Seattle’s craftsman homes and finish carpentry. In 2002, Doug received his master’s degree in construction management from UW. He served an internship with Rafn Construction, and administered the Island Wood project, Washington’s first gold rated LEED project. He was later hired by Schultz-Miller and Odyssey Builders to manage their projects. In 2011, DL Rees Contracting was relaunched. When Doug is not building, he has served on Duvall’s Planning Committee and taught skiing at Stevens Pass.
Doug Rees has been a carpenter/builder since 1981. He worked his way through Whitman College, using the skills he learned in his grandfather’s cabinet shop & fathers remodeling projects. After a 3- year apprenticeship restoring antique homes in Marblehead, MA, Doug went to work for Steven D Smith, building ‘St of Dreams’ homes, on the Eastside of Lake Washington.
